who loves music should be marking his or her calendar for the last weekend in
May. On May 29, 30, and 31 the Palm Coast/Flagler Foundation for the Arts and
Entertainment (PCFFAE) will present four separate outdoor musical events at Central
Park in PalmCoast’s
beautiful New Town Center. This is the third straight year that the PCFFAE has
provided an opportunity for our residents to gather together outdoors to enjoy some
top-notch music and entertainment.
“Music
in the Air” Weekend (MITA) will kick off on Friday, May 29th, at 7:30 p.m. with “Jazz in Central
Park,” featuring Rob Whiting’s JazzExpress and the Doug Carn
Group. Tickets are $10 each for this event.
On Saturday
evening, May 30th, at 7:30 p.m.,
“City Lites” will present a spectacularly entertaining show called “Motown and
Mo’ in Central Park.” Tickets for this nostalgic review are also $10 each.
The
highlight of the weekend will be the PCFFAE’s third annual “Picnic and Pops”
with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. On Sunday evening, May 31st,
the orchestra will present “Broadway and Hollywood Come to Central Park.” The
grounds at Central Park will open at 6:00 p.m. for picnicking. The outdoor concert will begin
at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for “Picnic and
Pops” are $25 each. Reserved tables for ten are $250.
As a
gift to the families and children of Flagler County, The PCFFAE invites them to
an afternoon of FREE music and entertainment on Saturday, May 30th, from
noon until3:00 p.m. ”Music in the Air
for Families and Children” will feature several outstanding local performers on
stage from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A variety of pre-show activities will keep the
youngsters busy from noon until 1:00 p.m. These activities include crafts,
story-telling, and dance. The MITA events on Saturday afternoon are free to
everyone! No tickets are needed.
